Profil 50' Cherokee
What's the story on these boats. Look slike a big Magnum. Pretty damn cool with big old school detroit power.

I actually like the boat, for it's sheer size it has a great sport look on the water, and both the cockpit and salon are huge.
I guess a 12' beam on a 50' boat lends to a very open feeling.
I was shocked at the top speed posted. I'd of never guessed a boat that big and heavy would move that fast with diesels.
I wonder what it's GPH is at that cruising speed.

The 50' Cherokee was designed by Alberto Mercati and built by ProfilMarine Yachts in Orrigio, Italy. In a test report of '82 that model powered by twin 500hp Cummins Turbodiesels had a cruising speed of 30knots (top 35) and a range of 300 nm. I think this was by far the most popular model of that company. The later models (60' and 80') did not sell as well.
