CRANE Ignitions
Does anyone know anyone that has any Crane HI-6M Marine Ignitions or know where I can get any?? Does Crane Cams USA stock any still?
My Crane rep here in Australia tells me that they are no longer available on their system so he can't order me one in.
Does anyone have any still stocked on a dusty shelf somewhere I can try and get a hold of? Or are these things now Hens Teeth?
I am in URGENT need of a pair of them so I need to exhaust all avenues before I look to change systems bit if I am forced to, what would be the best replacements for a race application?

I do not think they are making the Hi 6M anymore. Pretty sure they quit making it when the new ownership took over.
You could use one of the other Hi 6 ignitions, but would not have the switchable timing curves and the curve would have to be built into the distributor.

So no one has any old stock still?
I'd do the ring around and ask but 99% of the big sellers (CP etc) are members on here so I thought it might be worth a shot, that and long distance calls with our timezone difference would confuse the heck out of me!

Yeh I saw them too. Kicking myself for not grabbing them but the boat was running fine when they were up!
I'm scared to death of MSD, i've read more good than bad and I really like the built it switchable curve dial rather than the MSD set up. I suppose a reason why I might read so much bad about the MSD is because there are so many out there but I still don't trust them! We'd run HI-6Ns but the curve is regulated by the distributor instead and we'd rather avoid the stuffing around to get them matched when they were running so well before!
