That heavy lift ship, The M/V Blue Marlin BTW, will certainly burn some fuel, but very little is going to compete with the rig I was on for overall fuel consumption at speed. We would burn 10-12,000 a day just to stay in one place.:lolhit: And that was while on standby. When the drilling package was operating, that increased to 15,000 a day. Everyday.
Just amazing although I guess its a bit like a "breeder" reactor recovering fuel while using fuel. Between the Oasis RHR speaks of, and this thing you've got the combined consumption of a small country. Dean- I'm pretty amazed at how cheap the setup runs. A trip to and from Catalina Island is less expensive than an Imax movie. Ilmors are also supposed to last an extraordinarily long time. Now I just need to find the time to go enjoy it- I'm coming off a 90 hour 6 day week and practically catatonic. UD |

UD I hear ya, I've been working 6-7 days a week, going on a year now, it's getting old...... But hey, thats' helping the "Ilmor Trust Fund":drink: |
