OK, so what is it? Im getting ready to get mine redone? I boat in mostly brackish water.

also going to try and put a bottle opener on it. should I paint it to match or leave it original finish?.

Back in the 90s we built a Skater race boat called wits end. It was whited out, so the rub rail was painted white. All the hard ware (hinges, handles, etc) were powder coated white. After 2-3 races all the powdercoat was chipping off and looking like crap, the rub rail looked great.

Powder is much like paint in that prep is 90% of the game. I think a lot of people think its magic... It's not, but when applied properly can weather better then paint. Flaking and peeling powder is NOT right
