Set the timing to be 32*-34* at full advance. It sound like you are very close to the stock 525SC specs now. Might want to start with 32* and then experiment with 34*. Stock 525SC's were 35*, but were not at full advance until about 4200rpms.

FYI, If you are looking for any other pulley's, these engines have them. They are 525SC's.

Default Fuel/Air Ratio and Timing

A few hundred dollars for a Dyno Tune would be very inexpensive if you can find access. Running the correct fuel air mixture and timing is crucial at WOT. A liitle insurance to leave it at full throttle on long runs. Nice to know your Hp ant Torque Curve as well.

I'm running a used factory carb. off a 525 SC (1050 dominator) and it won't stay running or idle. If I pump throttle it will fire and quit once gas is burned up (in a few seconds) unless I keep pumping throttle? I am not familar with these carbs. at all. Its like its not getting gas but I have fuel pressure and float bowls are full. What should I look for? What are the (4) screws on the bottom corners of the carb. and how should they be set? thanks

Yes I'm running the factory flame arrester. I have a line running from just below the carb. to the intake manifold below the supercharger with a one way check valve in it. It can suck up to the carb. but can't leak back into the manifold.

Did you have the carb rebuilt? did you pull it apart and go through it and put new gaskets and clean it up?If not it might be a good idea for some one to do it. Sometimes a vacum leak might do it if the base plate it leaking.

I figured it out check valve in line was backwards should have vacuum to carb but close when under boost. Is 98 main jets all around good to start with? How many screws out on the idle richeners? Thanks.

Yes, with 4.5PV all around. 1 turn out on the idle mix screws.

I can get it to start right up and run with a little throttle and runs ok until you try to idle it down below about 1500 rpm then it seems like it is running out of gas. I've tried messing with carb and timing with no luck. The 1050 dominator and weiand 177 are stock mercruiser pieces off a 525sc. There are no vacuum lines going to the carb the only line runs from the manifold to the top of the supercharger above the rotor with a one way check valve so you can suck from manifold end but not blow back valve closes. I just borrowed an 1150 dominator to try setup by nickerson for a similar setup and it has vaccum lines running from metering blocks? I assume I run those to the manifold should i do away with other hose from manifold to charger or leave it? I assume my issue is not enough vacuum to carb at idle?

I have 2 of the exact same merc 525sc setups on my engines. I have no vacuum lines running to anything anywhere. It sounds to me like you have a massive vacuum leak. Try plugging the vacuum line you speak of.
