Here we go, dont put a whale tail on it , it will keep the bow lift down and loose top end. A four blade will come plain a lot faster than a 3 blade . I have a scarab 22 with 600 hp or so and i run a labbed 30 bravo 1. i think maybe a 22 pitch would be great on the boat and come on plain real fast. I f you want put some electric tabs 8x12 on it and that would help when you have a full boat. . I think your rev limiter is set at 4850 so forget about going to 5000

I like having tabs, so I think I am going to try the tabs first and see if that helps, then play with prop sizes after that.

Don't get a whale tale. Those things are useless IMO. It may be helpful to drop down a pitch size in prop. You shouldn't lose much speed, and you may gain something if you can get your RPMs up to 5k. What motor do you have in that thing?

Another option may be to send the props to BBlades to have them labbed. It sounds like you may not be too far off in your prop selection. Some fine tuning may do wonders for your boat/setup.

Its a 260HP MERC

Is this your listing, or did you just find it for me? I went online and found out what the motor specs are. 4200-4600 WOT. I am not 100% sure if my tach is correct, but I was running 4500-4800 at the lake the last couple trips. People are saying to go down in pitch, but according to this, I may want to go to a 3 blade prop and go up in pitch. I just need to figure out what pitch I am at right now.

The boat came with a 3 blade mirage 23 pitch, the ride better with a 4

I have a 4 blade now. According to BBlades a 3 blade is faster, but a 4 blade has more control, so you are prob right about sticking with a 4 blade. Im a newbie. The prob stuff is a little confusing.

If your current prop is a 23" and that can run 58 @ 4800, then you should still be able to run 52-54 @ 4800 with a 21". That is assuming your drive gear is a 1.62 and 8-12% slip. A Revolution 4 would be a great allrounder for sure. IF your drive ratio is 1.47 it's a bit different. Then your current slip is 18%, and that is high for that boat, and there might be an issue. By issue I mean the prop you are running now is just plane wrong for the boat, and you should start from scratch and go baseline testing.

Good luck.

The above text is my definition of confusing. I will mention to my boat mechanic though.
