Default Cougar Cub

I know I've seen threads in the past with people looking for these, so I figured I'd throw this up here.

I don't know anything about it, other than that it's been on the local Craigslist for a while now. (It started at $1500.)

I heard these boats are easy to turn over. Any truth to that?

I don't think you could turn a Cub over, the hull is almost square and with a sponson on each side, you would be hard pressed. I had a 25HP one and it would run 35 with an adult in it, but ran like a flat bottom. You may be thinking about the v-hull Merc Watermouse, apparently people at Disney World flipped them quite frequently which would tend to cut Aunt Alice's ride somewhat short....

One of my Dad's mechanics flipped ours over. Pulled it out, rebuilt the motor, started it up and the thing blew up...he forgot to add oil to the gas!

I have one and and have not had any problems. Then again I have only had it out a handfull of times in fairly flat water.
There are some people that say they can roll easy.

Back in 88 or 89 ? ? Key West Race Week, they used to have cub races," Joe Calabro - Finish Line Race Team" was running Kurt's Marine small cat. Boat flipped, fell out, got run over by another cub. Almost lost his hand, from trying to protect his head, but lost his eye.

Our Cub is the 1983 Key West world champion. There were 3 races: Open, Over 250 LB and Female. My Dad won the 250 race, his throttleman Tommy Akoury won the open and some girl they recruited from another team got a third. Boat is on display outside the restaurant now.

tons of them...

We had a 12' Baja Scat Cat. The hull was chit and it ran like crap. Need a lot of fiddling to get them to run decent. Funcat made a 13 footer. There were a bunch of others, but the names escape me...
