What’s your tightest squeeze?

I recently had to replace the hoses and o-rings for my remote oil filter adaptor on the starboard engine of my twin engine 32’ Fever. To do this, without removing the engine, I had to squeeze myself under the engine, where my head was next to the oil filter adaptor, and my legs ended up by the battery tray. I’m not a large nor small guy (5’10”, 190 lbs), so it took me some jockeying before I got myself under there. For those of you who aren’t aware of the configuration in this engine compartment, there is not a lot of room to maneuver. I made sure that I had a spotter there, just in case I got stuck. Getting under there was hard enough, getting out was even worse.

What was your tightest squeeze?

Well, let's see....She was about 5'2", 105, with big ole'......:p :D :D :D

But seriously, The worst thing I had to do was install one of those little transducers into the bilge. Simple enough in theory, but it sucks when the damn motor thingy is in the way. I had to jam my head between the motor and the stringer(supporting half my weight) and hanging my legs off the bench. What a backbreaking job...sanding, mixing the epoxy, in and out of the compartment. A bunch of sore bones from that one! ;)

i had to change a starter last year. I had to put my legs up out of the engine compartment and hang upside down and reach all teh way under the engine from the front. The best part was it took me 2 hours to do becaue i could only turn the ratchet 1 or 2 clicks at a time becasue it was between the oil pan and the stringer.

I had to replace a seawater pump on a twin engine application with a 6 foot beam. I had to remove one riser and a few other parts and still stand litterally on my head to get to it. All my buddies were laughing they said it looked like my boat was trying to eat me.
