Default Very limited budget boat buy!!!

I know that this is just penny's compaired to what some of you guys have invested in this sport but here it is. I have $20,000 cash to buy an offshore boat. I have had a 211 liberator and recently sold a powerquest 237 stryker. Powerquest was an awesome boat for the money but I would like to try a cat or a classic offshore boat. So if you had $20,000 cash would you go in debt and get that awesome boat that will blow everyones mind or...

What would you do????

This is a good time to buy a boat. There are a lot of killer deals out there and CASH is King. I would also consider the cost of operation, so don't buy more boat than you can afford to operate. Have an outrageous boat and having to worry about the cost to run it every time you go out will take a lot of the fun out of it. Just a few things to think about.
Have fun shopping.

If I had $20k cash and I was a new performance boater I would get into an older 32' V bottom with twins. I wouldn't get into something in the $40-60K range until I had more experience if I were you, and I wouldn't try a cat, yet.

Just my opinion, but I think you should get comfortable driving a twin engine V bottom in the 80mph range before stepping into a cat.

Not new to boating I have been boating all my life. I have Been around boats all my life when I was younger and kevin hirdes was testing powerquest's on lake mack I would walk out to the dock and he would come pick me up. Helped that my parents were firends with them. So now that I am getting into buying my own boat's I am wondering what others would do in my situation.

I have looked at 28 cigs online they look nice, might consider. Never looked at them real hard in person but would consider.

With my rotten luck lately and boat related issues, if I had 20K cash.!? I go to Bora Bora or something on that line for 3 months and get a cannue.

Buy a single first. About 28' ish, have fun and then move up as $ and time allows. Getting a twin for 20K +- you will spend more just on upkeep.

There are several Baja 280's that can be had for less than 20K. Good twin engine boat to get your feet wet.
