What size drop hitch if any?

I have a 2002 4x4 2500 Suburban. My old hitch might be too high coming from a 2wd 99 Tahoe.

How much drop should I have in the hitch if any?

It depends on what you are towing. I have the same truck. I use a 1 inch drop. The truck squats quite a bit when I hook up the Top Gun to it.

We use a 1" drop on our Sub. On my 2500HD truck I have the adjustable receiver that was sold on OSO awhile back(maybe still is). It is the ultimate if you tow a lot of different boats like I do,it goes up and down a bunch of different ways, has a 2" and 2 5/16"ball that swivels, best setup I've seen.

The Hitch I use is from Roro-Eze which may be the one Magicfloat is thinking of

Have a much lighter boat than the Top Gun (23' Commander) Looks like a 1"-2" drop might do.

I only tow one boat so the roto might be overkill.

Thanks all for your input! I'm towing with my new burb for the first time tonight!
