Port Huron/StClair boaters: Where to launch?

If I were to live near StClair or Mt Clements area, are there many places to launch a 30' Formula?? Are the prices reasonable?? Lastly, what about dry storage??

We use Sassy Marina, near Algonac. They rack store with pretty good prices and service. We just sold our boat so we are trying to buy another real quick.

Cost to store for you would be:

Full yr $2360
Summer $1600
Winter $965

$20 per month for trailer storage

I don't recommend Anchor Bay Marina. They damaged my boat 3 times. For a 30 ft boat, try Beacon Cove Marina in St. Clair Shores. As far as trailer launching, there are a few good DNR ramps on Lake St. Clair in your area.

If you want to rack store your boat , the only places I know of that would rack something that size would be Miller marina (St Clair shores) , Beacon cove (Harrison Twp.), or Anchor Bay marina . If you want to leave it in the water I would suggest either Hideaway Harbor or Beacon cove. They are centrally located to just about anywhere you would go on the lake. There are also numerous places to launch from. I live in St. Clair shores (9 & harper) and launch at the Selfridge DNR launch (21 & jefferson) , I know it is a long ways from home but I'm new to the trailer launching thing and there ramp is nice and big.

Also when you say St. Clair area do you mean St. Clair or St Clair shores? They are two different places with about 40 miles between them.

We always launch at a DNR launch at the mouth of the Clinton River. No problems there with a 30 footer, we saw a couple of 35 Fountains today and the Cardsharks pulling out (38 Hustler). We keep ours in a storage lot about 3 miles from the launch. I did hear about a new DNR launch just south of the spillway, too.

BTW, Chuck, your engine sounded awesome pulling away from Metro on Saturday. Definatley does not sound stock...

I Launched a friends 32 cat at the selfridge DNR this weekend and it's good for your size boat. The season pass was $25 and is good at all statewide DNR launches. The South river rd DNR launch, and metro launch are the two I usually go to in my 32, and occasionally selfridge. Metro beach season launch passes are like $18 for the boat, but you need one for the car also. The algonac DNR launch on the st clair river was extremely shallow last year, basicly unuseable except for fishing boats, not sure of how it is this year. There is a DNR launch in fair haven also, but I'm not sure of the depth there either. If anyone knows about that launch, let hear it, It's close to my house.

There is a brand new DNR lauch site just north of the spillway. I'm in a well at Beacon Cove. The rack facility there seems well run.

I think that new one is where admirl marina use to be...

Don't bother trying the new DNR launch (by the spillway) , My friends shop is right by there and he has heard people are hitting things left and right.
It might be okay for smaller fishing boats, that is usually what I see in there.

Thanks Bill,
I saw your boat on the wall as I was leaving but didn't see you or Christine.
