Correct.

An HP500 Bulldog is a 540ci block, carbed, prime for supercharging.

I believe the 500HP was one of the first blue motors and as far as I can remember the 575 were with the Holley type of throttle body injection.

465hp - 502 ci and they built a limited number of 450hp - 454 ci

the 575HP 540 cu.in motor.

And are we just talking merc racing in general, or the motors that where actually painted blue? If memory serves. The 800sc, 900sc and 1000sc where painted black. They are in my old brochures anyway.

What is the difference between the Blue and Black motors? The Blue motors are Mercury Racing, did they use better parts? Did they make more horsepower than advertised? My new boat is coming with Blue HP500 carb engines.
