Those early fountians were really built by excaliber had turbo motors. I think I remember the adds promised 86mph. Most race boats were not mutch faster at that time. The name Bill Farmer comes to mine

    Thanks for the insite..
    Funny World, I raced Dirt
    Bikes 60s-70s, TT, Desert,
In the early 70s a guy came out to the Desert and
never raced but did say he
    Raced Boats Offshore, We
    talked some about boats.
    Larry Smith (Scarab) who
    Years later I worked for.
Now Excaliber was the first Fountians and looks
like wellcraft will now replace A lot of Scarabs
    and have with Excalibers.

I remember seeing very early Fountins at the NY boat show back in the late 70's. They were Chris-Crafts, 33 foot I think. With Executuioner on the side and 1000 HP. They had Gale Banks turbo engines.

They modified the bottom with the pad.

Still had Chris-Craft on the side too.
