My sympathies to the family. A tragic reminder that the sport we enjoy can be dangerous, and that the water will try very hard to kill you if it can.

Side note: yet another example of the media not knowing their ass from a hole the ground. From Baja Daze link...

The catamaran-style vessel, named the "Bad Kat," is a twin-hulled Douglas Sket racing boat.
And this one really makes a lot of sense...

Trooper Nicholas DiJoseph said the boat was designed for use on a lake, not the ocean.
I'm sure that all those folks that race Skaters in APBA and SBA will be glad that Trooper DiJoseph has let this cat out of the bag. Amazing how all those offshore racers were competing in "lake" boats and didn't know it!
