Shore Dreams For Kids Names Joe Nasso To The Charity’s Board Of Directors
Toms River, NJ, May 3rd , 2011 – Shore Dreams For Kids (SDFK) recently held it’s first Board meeting of the year. At that meeting, the board reluctantly accepted the resignation of Rob Cline, one of the original founders of the Shore Dreams For Kids charity. Rob has been an integral part of the organization ever since it’s inception and will be truly missed. Rob does hope to still be able to continue volunteering at the event though every July.
With Rob’s departure, the Shore Dreams Board needed to find someone that could fill the void left by Rob’s departure. After much debate and discussion among the remaining Board members about potential candidates, Joe Nasso was asked to join fellow board members Pete Mazzo, Brian Meade, Geralyn Monroe and Dave Patnaude as board member of SDFK. Joe gladly accepted!
Joe has been an integral part of both New Jersey Performance Powerboat Club (NJPPC) and SDFK over the years. Joe first joined NJPPC back in 1999 and has been a Board member of NJPPC for the last 5 years. In 2009, he was inducted into NJPPC’s Hall of Fame as it’s 2009 Powerboater of the Year. SDFK has also always been a cause that has been very near and dear to his heart. He has always unselfishly donated his time as well as money and auction items when needed.
Joe’s passion and dedication to SDFK has been a valuable asset to SDFK. He exemplifies what SDFK is all about and what the charity stands for. It is because of this, that we welcome Joe to the SDFK Board with open arms!
About Shore Dreams For Kids
Shore Dreams for Kids is a non-profit 501c3 organization who throughout the year sets out to raise money to hold an annual event for approximately 1,000 children and their families. The groups invited include attendees from the Special Olympics, Make a Wish Foundation, Oceans of Love, Children with Cancer, mentally and physically challenged children as well as special needs children throughout the area to a day at the shore. Our annual event offers these children and their families a day of entertainment which includes a "carnival atmosphere" complete with games and small rides, an antique car display, food and drinks, live entertainment and most importantly Performance powerboat rides in the Barnegat Bay, NJ. The boat rides are conducted by local Performance Powerboat owners, including but not limited to the New Jersey Performance Powerboat Club who volunteer their time & boats to share with those less fortunate.
