Sunk Scarab in Devil's Cove????!!!!

I commend the guy in the big boat, that had balls enough to tie on to the sunk boat and pull it hard and fast enough that it came completely to the top of the water!!
In theory it would have worked if:
1 the boat didn't have any other holes in it
2 they could have pulled it long enough for it to push out all of the water out of the drain hole.
I guess they should have headed for the open water!
My buudy use to get the water out of his duck boat by pulling the plug from the inside while he ran down the lake!

I think the boat in the above picture is a Baja....Doesn't the Scarab have the bar down the middle of the bow. I live not too far from the guy that owned the Scarab. What I heard from a friend who knows the owner of said scarab is that he had just gotten it out of the shop and that they suspect that the seal around the out drive had gone bad on top of the the fact that the bilge was not working (a fact that the owner did not discover until boat was sinking). What I heard was the major factor in the boat sinking was that he had tied up to a big cruiser and that the bilge of the cruiser was pumping right into the vents of the Scarab. They did try to tow it out but were cut off by another boat and then the Scarab Sank. That's what I heard anyway.

Joe (here on the board) said that is his old boat. Which was a 29' Scarab. I have no reason to doubt him.

I think it was 2001 when this happened. Coincidentally, I got the definitive word on what caused the sinking. One of my good friends is the DPS water rescue instructor and was on that salvage job. He told me yesterday it was the missing drain plug that sunk it. Nothing more.
