I'm using Torco MTF in my #6 which is what Merc uses. Dean told my buddy with a B-Max to use Torco MTF.

In my cat, since 1993 it has had The amsoil 75-90 gear oil in it always. The boat raced for 3 years, and had stringent gear oil changes after every race(I was told) with no problems, When I bought it, I changed it religiously every 10 hours and have never had a problem. I did replace a bearing carrier a few years ago, and my uncle (owns a marina) Pulled it all apart and couldn't belive it, no visible signs of wear at all, they still looked like fresh cut gears out of the box and never run. Most looked worse after 5 hours with merc lube he said. That said, guess what I use still!!
