Default 46' 180mph Skater, "Lick This" at Havasu

On our first day at the lake, a week ago, the place was buzzing about some boat running around at 180mph. We launched and went looking and while heading south towards the dam, saw a monster rooster tail coming at us. As I pulled a u-turn, this 46' Skater went roaring by us. Finally caught up with him at the Bridge channel (he stopped and got out). Told me he had just got the boat, lives in Phoenix, twin 1,600 hp Sterlings, and was doing 160mph when he went by us. Boat has a center-enclosed pod with five seats inside, gullwing like doors on both sides, and a big flying frog with a long tongue on the side. Anyone know anything about this boat/guy? Even for Havasu, it was a damn radical boat!

I know the dealer here in houston that I bought my boat from sold one like that about a year ago. I think that boat was moved up to Mead. I emailed him to see what, if anything, he knew about it.

Must have been something being out on water & seeing something like that coming by. Buddy & I always talk about what it would be like to be runing full out & having something like that come screaming by.

It was outside, in front of the convention center on Figuroa, on the first weekend of the show. PhantomChaos had some pics posted of it. I think they left after Sunday.

We talked to the owners friend at the boat show. He said they were hoping to see 190 mph in it. He said the boat cost 1.2 million, and the trailer was 125k. It was on a tilt up trailer and had escort vehicles with flashing lights with "wide load" signs.

That must be a serious pain in the ass to haul that from Phoenix to havasu with "wide load" vehicles running in front and behind!! Let's see, one person in the front vehicle one in the back vehicle, one driving the truck, that leaves one seat for a female in the boat when you get there!

Maybe he ought to bring it to the Lake of the Ozarks Shoot-out this year and see if he has enough to run with David Scott!
Did you guy's see in the new Powerboat that they (Powerboat) are helping sponsoring it this year! That is going to be awsome! They said whoever win's this year get's to be the Cover Boat in October!! And they dared anyone to see if they can out run David Scott!

IT's going to be BIG!
