Things I have learned from my boating experience!

I was thinking lately about the little things that I have learned that make a big difference and thought it would be a good idea to share them!! If anyone else has anything to add, Please do!!

1. Stay away from Pennzoil Marine protectant!! I sprayed it all over my motor's, tranny's, drive's, and anything else I could get to trying to protect it during the winter, only to find out in the spring that the only way to get it off is to wipe everthing down with Mineral Sprit's, and my polished alluminum still has spots!!

2. Tie down the back of the boat during towing! I have had friends follow me to the lake say that they saw sunlight between the boat and trailer on a couple of big bumps!! and this was a 30ft 6000lbs boat!!! (Missouri Roads)

3. You can never check the Oil, Tranny, and Outdrive fluid levels too much!!!

4. Dually's pull big boat's easier that a single rear wheel truck! I'm no talking about power at all!! I'm just saying that a dually is more stable to tow with!

5. When it comes to High Performance Boating, Set up is everything!! The biggest power or biggest prop won't do you any good if you can't trust the little things!!

6. If you can avoid it, Don't pull your plug at the boat ramp!! It just makes a mess for everyone else!!

I've got to run, but I'll think of some other's and post them later!!

Anyone else have anything to add?
