Jet skis are the atv's of the water.

Except I don't see too many ATVs around here weaving in and out of traffic on the highway areoung here. Sticker-charged, big winged, roller skates yes, but ATVs no.

If ATV's were legal on the highway like jet skis are on the water, we'd be dodging the rednecks while they jumped in and out of the medians.

Very similar. Both are fun, both attract many people through their ease of operation, and both have their responsible owners/riders along with their share of folks who need to pull their heads out. But I do think that more jet skiers lack situational awareness because they don't take it seriously enough and understand the dangers involved. Or they're just stupid. I love riding my ski as well, I just don't play chicken with boats.

Just an observation.

I tend to compare them with people on bicycles. They run all lights, don't look to the sides or behind. When they then squeeze by you in a traffic jam, and take a nice line of paint with them, thsy still belive it's your fault. Only we are the ones paying for it!
