454/330 upgrade questions.

I know there are many variations of this topis on here and after many seraches I decieded to post and see some opinions. I am currently running a 454/330 but and building a 454 with the following parts. My question is will I be able to break 380-400hp?

-Heads are a fresh set of 3999241( LS-5 365hp ovals with a freash valve job).
-Lunati 276/276 cam ( 221/[email protected], 515/515)
-Keith Black .030 hyper pistons
-stock rods and crank.
-carb is a 750 quad
-GLM 4" manifolds and risers

Mecrusiser said they dynoed a 330 with the lunati cam and made 380bhp.

Haven't decieded on a manifold. Any pointers or suggestions would be great, I am not looking for massive power, just good power and reliability.

That cam is pretty small, it has less duration than a 454 Magnum cam.

I have had good results in the past using roller rocker arms on 454's, they lower your oil temps and free up a couple hp.

You didnt mention an intake manifold, but I would use a Performer RPM or air gap manifold.

Bump up compression to around 9.0 to 1 if you havent already.

With those pistons and rotating assembly 400hp will be your max, I wouldnt go over that

what would be a good cam to match those heads and not need a big carb? I looked at the comp grinds,

I would go just a little hotter, something around 228/236 duration at .050 and just about .510-.520 lift, no more than that. Be sure to get an LSA of at least 114.

If you have a few extra bucks to have the heads opened up just a little that would help also.

I was looking at those manifolds on their website and they look like stock replacements, not performance manifolds. Gonna be hard to hit an honest 400 with stock manifolds. With performance manifolds 410-420 may be possible

Thanks Rex. That cam sounds pretty nice. The GLM site said they made 12 hp over mercruiser manifoldes. They have shaped chambers that they say help the gases out better. The heads were given to me by my uncle and they are the same as the 049 heads (113cc open) and they just had a 3 angle valve job.

Does anyone have any proven Cam numbers with the setup?

lunati make a vodoo with a 219/227@ .050 530/540, and a 224/234@ .050 and 527/553. would any of these work well with the 049 heads?
