Damn, this thread has been special
Glad I just do race articles and photos and don't report any worthy news topics.
On a serious note, that sucks to here about Powerboat. I too re-upped my subscription only to have received just 1 issue. For me, it's not about the money, it's about not receiving a great publication!
However, I feel for the people that worked for Powerboat. We should all try and put ourselves in their "flip-flops". Do you think they like what's going on?!
I wish everyone at Powerboat the best of luck and remember, for every cuddy door that is shut, there is a cuddy door that opens. Best of luck to you all. Keep your chins up.I realize I don't have the writing skills of Matt and Tank, but you guys get the picture.

You can always retake a class, but you can never relive a party.
I am sitting shiva for Powerboat. For those that don't know what that is, it's jewish mourning.
I just looked on ebay, and there are some 1970's vintage mags available. I sent the seller a message to see how many issues he has. Now that it's gone, I can think of many issues I would love to have copies of.
Very sad time for the industry.
I spoke with Jason, editor of Powerboat, yesterday and asked him to write a feature getting Powerboat's current staff's best memories of the magazine as well as PB's previous writers from years past.
When I got fired from Hot Bot; it was terrible to not be able to have some type of farewell issue after a 20 year career there.
Jason was enthusiastic about the writing assignment and said he would contact previous editors, Mark Spencer and Bob Brown as well as current staffers.
It will be a nice way for all to say farewell to a great publication.
I remember one issue from early eighties that had a great photo sequence of a Cougar blowing over while they were doing the photo shoot. I believe the boat was Goldrush.
Jason's article will be in the September issue of Performance Boats. The feature will run in both editions; lake and offshore.
We are running a "print only" subscription special for $14.00 but you have to call the office @ 702 313-1400.
