I thought you could display the hours and rpm's on the smart craft?

You should be able to get ahold of any local merc mechanic and they would be able to read the ECM's with thier scan tool. Otherwise you can do a search for Rinda tools and they have them available for sale...

When I was 20 was a real crazy and a real lazy. Crazy driver lazy on servicing my boat . At 30 I was still a little crazy and not as lazy. Now I'm about 40 still a little crazy but I service my boats and try NOT to break them. Still love going fast but just gotten better at it so I don't beat up the boat as bad. Younger lessons learned!

Top end rebuild should be done around 250 hours.
I'm not sure if the '09's had the crappy CMI headers, but earlier models did. Can't really check them...sooner or later they would leak. It's a great engine, but sometimes the smartcraft with all the sensors can be a PITA. I got 172 hours on mine before I dropped a value and required a full rebuild. Just make sure that you check the values more frequent. I love this motor. So much so I bought some CMI Gen-X headers......... |
