Default Learn From My Mistake

The old saying buyer beware goes a long way when dealing with used boat parts! Wanting to upgrade my exhaust system but being on a budget i bought a set of IMCO Power Flow exhaust and risers last summer, had them installed just be fore Labor Day 2010, first time out i get water in the oil. Had the risers extended to correct what we thought was a reverson issue, Fast foward to Memorial Daty this year, same thing oil pan full of water. Frustrated and out of "Boat Money" i went back to stock manifolds and risers. If you buy used exhaust get it pressure tested before installing it, i just did not know any better at the time and i thought i was dealing with an honest person....was i wrong he sold me manifolds with a crack in the water jack, claimed he had just run them on his Fountain! For what it has cost me for the exhaust, two engine clean ups, estending risers, labor cost and now buying stock exhaust again i could have had a set of CMI's and bought an extra set as a spare!

There is always someone who will try to take advantage of you. Its a shame that it has to be like that, it has happened to me a couple of time and it sucks. What is worst is that they usually get a way with it and nothing happens to them.

That's a pretty interesting read, considering you sold me the boat with major problems. I ended up pulling the engine. Complete rebuild myself. Complete new/correct fuel system, injectors, supercharger rebuild. When I dis-assembled the engine i found the head gaskets leaking, three leaking/bent valves and the mains were shot. Found the shift linkage out of adjustment, allowing the drive to slip this spring when we first got on the lake. This is just the short list. I know many of these problems you were completely aware of. Shame on me for not being observant enough to catch them when I looked at/purchased the boat. Your welcome for getting rid of your mess of a boat for WAY to much money! I have now invested approximately $6000 more into this boat, doing all of the work myself!
