Interesting gauge layout. I rode in a triple 40 and the owner said it weighed almost 13k with fuel. I think you'll be lucky to see 50mph.

I think the owner just wanted to save money and didn't care how slow his boat would run. |
It's the drives, they are stock Merc's I bet with 1.5:1 gears you are hard press to see 55 mph more like 50 mph because you can't get big props on those drives so the slip will be great since you won't spin them fast enough to be efficent.
Look at the gas version of any of your boats, say you spin the Yanmars at 3,500 rpm through 1.5, that is the same as your gas engines turning 3,500 rpm through 1.5 gears. Measure your slip at 3,500 at it will most likely be higher than at 4,400. If that is fact then you won't get the small props to work well because of lack of prop speed. If that boat had Arneson's with closer to a 1:1 gear she would run allot better I bet into the low - mid 60's. My 2 cents |
Hey buddy! Yeah, it depressing not having a boat so I try to stay away from here. That is untill a ride with "fogduckerIII" In his wicked Scarab had to wreck every practicle bone in my body! :evilb:

'Power & Motor Yacht' tested one with triple Yanmar 350s and Blackhawk drives in July of 95. They reported 78 mph.

I would suspect high 40's low 50's depending on conditions.
