Canal Day Death?

Wtf is that?

I sure hope it's not true. I thought that was today though?
The few people I talked too said I am better off staying away. Any truth to that? Nort, it's a big raft-up party on the C+D Canal from what I am told. It's about 10 minutes from my new home. |
It's true
I can't give too many facts since I didn't see the body, but sometime in the early evening someone went in the water and didn't come out until after 9pm. There were rumors flying all over the place, but the consensus it that a (probably drunk) non swimmer jumped into the water from their boat.
The coast guard was there for sometime including a helicopter with the night sun helping out. The looked all around the marina only to find him directly below where he jumped. I'm assuming out of respect, the Chesapeake Inn closed down part of the bar and had the band take a break during the recovery. |

It sort of starts Thursday or Friday, it keeps getting earlier each year. The few people I talked too said I am better off staying away. Any truth to that? I personally would not take a nice performance boat there like yours. There are a whole lot of drunk, non-boating, non-caring people, and it is a mob scene. Nort, it's a big raft-up party on the C+D Canal from what I am told. It's about 10 minutes from my new home. RIP to the victim. |
I found this when I saw this thread.
