Looking to upgrade
I am looking to upgrade to a little bigger, little newer boat and want to know what to look for...I gravitate toward the formulas because I love their styling and i am familiar with them as a quality boat. However, there are so many boat brands out there I want to make sure I am not unintentionally ignoring a brand to look at. Thinking low to mid 30- foot range and I would like fuel injected motors. I am in Illinois so is is lake and river cruising. I love the old 357's but want to get into something newer, like a 336 or 353 I think. Functionality on the boat is most important as we will spend more time hanging out than running it. I love the mirage I have, but ended up with that in a trade deal, so I didn't exactly research and select that one. It feels like there is a bunch of wasted engine compartment space in that boat. I think I could swap cams without pulling the back seat! So what about all the other brands out there? Do they stack up to what I am used to and what I think I want?

Contact Joey314 on here if you are serious about buying. He is selling exactly what you are looking for.
Thinking about it, maybe he is 314Joey.........

What price range are you looking to be in? Our first boat was a 270 Intimidator and we loved it! If you like room when you are anchored the Baja 32' Caliber or Baja 33' Outlaw have really big cockpits for hanging out in.

I am not set on a price range yet, but would hope to stay around 40 if I can get what I want. I believe injected motors are a must, but I can't really complain about my carb'd 330 horse 7.4's, so maybe that is a stupid restriction to put myself. I am probably not officially in the market yet, just trying to identify what is out there that I should start looking at. Some of the Sunsations look awesome but I don't know much about them. I see a ton of bajas for sale, but don't know much abut them either. I really like the extra cockpit room with the 4 bolsters though! I am in Illinois, so I probably want to stay within the Midwest and have always heard to stay away from saltwater boats. Don't know if there is any truth to that or if it is an urban legend. Makes sense it would be tough on the out drives and cooling systems (if it wasn't closed cooling). There are just so many boat brands out there it is hard to know what to start looking at, or more importantly, what not to look at. I know it is going to be 20+ years old in my price range, so I need a quality boat that will offer dependability.

If you like the 4 bolster cockpit, take a look at the Advantage 32 Victory. There are a couple in the classifieds.
EDIT: There is ONE in the classifieds. There were several a couple weeks ago.

I saw a 357 out of LOTO with 502 MAGs, believe it was on boattrader, if you want something newer then I'd look into the 33ZX Donzi, those seem like good boats. There are tones of boats out there. Have fun shopping.
