Steps to straight hull, anyone done ?

couldn't you just add thickness to the front of the boat instead of cutting into the back? If you made the whole front half of the boat say, an inch thicker in some fashion you would have a step without having to cut into or move anything.
It would be a simple step bottom though. Mine looks like a frikkin space ship and this picture doesn't do it justice. From a 3 dimensional sense, it's complicated as hell.

As I remember ,It came from the 29 Cary originally built by the Old master Schoel,which had the aft chine flared (horribly) somewhere down the line,there was a raceboat Speedy Doris, The 32 Jaguar open fisherman and the Cobra 32 came from it.

Could be wrong but what i know all boats with steps on hull are
much newer. If it so the boat change could cost more than 20000$.
I have done many glasfibre jobs.. so no way i can save money with changing the boat.
It would be nice to know how many mph can reach more with steps compare without steps in same boat+same engine/drives.

Yeah - but wouldn't that add a TON of weight to the front of the boat and totally F-up the weight distribution?

No way to cut out the old hull.
Only one step is possible i think.
Example take molds for both side of front hull.
Make/laminated new hull copy's for both sides and attached to the original hull.
Boat orginal hull stand like it was but in front there
are new layer structure. So boat hull are after that deeper in front but same level in back. Drives holds
original positions.
Front layer gravitate to the back approx 2 inches to the step point (where back side old hull starts).
There are a changes when compare to the old hull angle. That could be bad thing.
however when drive higher speed there are not a much front hull in the water.
