Default 600sci to 496 swap - what's involved....

Thinking of selling my boat but keeping my 600sci.
If I swap out a 496ho will everything line up and bolt right in?

I know the drive should be fine, but what about:
• motor mounts (26 Outlaw)
• exhaust (I have silent choice now)

• will my system view race edition screen recognize/work with a 496?

I would think the harness would be the same, motor mounts might not be the same because if the elec. fuel pump. the headers are definitely different so I could see some challanges in reusing the silent choice, without having to do some rework. And I have to ask, what are getting in place of the Baja? BTW, if your system view race edition doesn't work with the 496, I would be very interested in buying it.

Hey Dean, thanks for the input. Not sure what I want to do next. Just thinking about some options, possibly selling etc.

Lets see here, off the top of my head:

The aluminum mounts that cap your liner and mount the HP cradle to your liner are different between the HP and 496. You could modify yours to work probably with some aluminum welding. You would need the Gil cradle in place of the 496 pod style engine mounts.

Exhaust cutout locations thru the transom are different. The switchable exhaust is tied directly into the tails which mount directly to the headers which will NOT fit on the 496. Best bet here would be to pull the bull horn and cap it on the transom with the Merc plate. Run the 496 exhaust straight out the transom. You could even use some ss tube to "bend" the exhaust out through the existing holes in the transom. The HP holes are a little lower and a little closer together than the 496.

If your intercooler dump is over board as opposed to in the exhaust tail, that would need repaired.

Smartcraft race edition should be interchangable between the 2. May be some harness differences, can't remember for sure.

Should be a seastrainer with the 600 since it has the intercooler. May not need/have room for it with the 496.

The powersteering res mount is different.

The powersteering connections/hoses would need modified in the engine compartment.
