Default 40' Formula "SS" switch from volvo drive to bravo. HELP!

Hey, I am going with a friend to look at a 2000 supersport formula .Its missing engines and volvo drives. Either need to get a deal on volvos to reinstall (transom assemblies are there), or swap to bravos or bravo 3. Will need belhousings for either one. also Can anyone help with info and or parts?
My friend talked to several people and is getting different answers. 2 said that the bolt patern on bravo and volvo is the same, other dealer says it's not...... Does anyone have a mounting templet or measurements for either so we can compare the 2? It has the volvo mount in it now, so if we get the info for the bravos we can comparfe tomorrow.

Any help at all would be great. I'll be leaving at 5am eastern time to go see it. Knowing the facts before making a deal WOULD BE SWEET! Thanks, Joe

if your so inclinded, my number is 908-963-2513

Depending on the year and Volvo drive that was there, the cutouts are most likely the same. Bravos are no match for that boat!!!!!!!!!

Yes, he has brand new 496HO's with nothing to do and can do the work himself.

Not stronger than a bravo 1, different ratio and dual props. You want the bravo 3 x or xr version. Pretty sure they ended up doing a factory recall and replacing all the standard 3's with x's on the 400ss's because of failures. Mine has x's. The 525 boats came with xr's........maybe others did also, not sure.

Formula "helped" owners with the switch back in 02?, I think as well as adding drive showers in 04. After that anything with a 496 was equipped with an X, if it had blue power, it was an XR
