A lot of turmoil in the world...leads to uncertainty...end result, people start holding onto their money! :(

I'd hate to be selling right now.

Not everyone is scared....I have bought & sold boats between Feb.- April. 02 Most everyone is however waiting for that guy, whose investments tank and there is a fire sale to dump a boat quickly. So be patient, don't sell too cheap or it will really destroy the market & resale values. I don't think the manufacturers are having much trouble as they are able to arrange very low finance rates.......which does effect the used resale market, just like in cars & trucks.

Slingslot,

It seems that the manufacturers are very busy right now. I was up at Baja on May 6th and there were over 70 boats in production. Someone posted on here a couple days ago that Fountain was wide open.

But I hear from local dealers in the area that sales are off. One thing that I have noticed here is that dealers do not have any inventory. The local Baja dealer is NOT ordering anymore boats for stock and is NOT taking any boats in on trade. I do not agree with this business practice. He says that in this economy that they cannot afford to floor plan the boats. They will broker your boat for you and order a new one, but how many people actually do that. Right after the holiday he said they were covered over with customers, but he had nothing on the lot to offer them.

He missed a sale on a 25 Outlaw to a good friend that went to Kentucky and traded in the 232 he had and did it all in one day, good experience and easy to deal with these guys. He is on the water enjoying his boat and would still be without a boat the other way. Go figure?

I would say there are probably going to be some very good deals out there this fall. Maybe better than this last winter.
