OT (sorta) Tiki Hut Material
Anybody know where to get the grass skirting that is seen on Tiki Huts? I think this would be a cool addition to the deck I am building. Thanks.

But seriously, I wouldn't know how you get a hold of palm frondes in OK. |

My wife used to get a mail order catalog from a company that has all kinds of tropical stuff for parties in it. I will try and find one for you. This stuff is not going to be real palm but it will be a lot cheaper.:)

My girlfreind has done a couple of them. She used Palmetto Fronds over chicken wire. She said to start from the outside and work to the top. I don't know about Oklahoma, but here in Florida, there is no shortage of Pallmettos. Said it lasts about three years.
They are the greener plants in the picture. |
Hey eyezlee if you find a good deal on a tiki roof kit, please let me know! I also just built a deck at the lake house, and a tiki bar would be GREAT! I am in Ks. so we have the same "location" problem!

I'm actually thinking of using the bamboo "fencing" first to give a little privacy on one end. I had no idea this stuff was so high. It will definitely have to wait until cooler weather arrives.
