Cig' Top Gun "Double Diamond" SANK??

Does anyone know the story on the Top Gun "Double Diamond"? Heard that it sank. :(
Saw it back on shore after it was brought back in and it still looks Gorgeous-

Reportedly sank.... heard bits and pieces of a story but I am not sure how much was fact and how much was dockside fiction.

Hopefully all is good.......
