Ok I just ordered a new trailer from Manning Marine..the boat is a twin step 30 foot and weights about 8500 to 9000lbs..
The original trailer was a triple axle 3700lb per axle trailer which was cutting it close..
I like the looks of a triple but dont care about all the flexing/twisting it did during tight turns so I ordered a Tandem 7000k lb per axle with 8 lug wheels..14000k LBS GVWR
What you guys think about triple versus Tandems?
as for options...I got EOH disc brakes,spare,tool box,diamond plate ,reverse lights,LED lights,,cow catcher bow stop..aluminum wheels..
Is there anything else I should get????

I had manning make me a triple axle for my old scarab and it was a great trailer. You will get a difference of opinions about tandem or triple. My current trailer is a tandem axle and I like it ok, but liked the triple better. I really wish I would have kept the manning when I sold the scarab! You have covered most options, but while your adding options, you might think about a drive guard.

I have a drive guard on my Myco. My next trailer will be a Manning (F Myco and their poor CS) and it will have a drive gaurd! You never know when someone might tap the back of your trailer (drives aren't cheap!) and it's not always easy to see what's behind you when you're backing up a 30'+ boat... the $500 drive guard is cheap insurance IMO, especially if you're running big $ drives/props!

I also ordered my trailer (Eagle) with the HD tandem axles over the triaxles for same reasons, too much wheel flexing on turns. Backing into my garage from the street requires a tight turn. No regrets at all.
Have towed with a triaxle and there is a noticable difference in towing, but not enough to change my mind. You'll love the EOH. Be sure to use a high quality cab controller. No cheapy $100 ones. I have the MaxBrake and can't speak highly enough of it.

I have a Manning dual axle for my Formula 292 and it trailers very well. I like the dual axle myself......seems to turn much easier than the tri axle. JMO. Good luck with it.
I agree about the drive guard as well......if the "coin" isn't a major issue.

I really think you will be fine with a tandem.Mine has 6k axles and my boat is only about 1000 lbs lighter than yours.Rob would not build it if he did not think it would work.
Never had a drive guard are they a pain in the azz at the ramp?

Only of you consider having to pull the pin and swing the rear panel out of the way a PITA. Takes 30 seconds or less...
Like I said, they are cheap insurance and worth every penny IMO.
