I heavily recommend buying the big wave surfing documentary, Riding Giants. A must-have for the video collection. I became intrigued by big wave surfing after reading about Mavericks near Half Moon Bay, CA. This video covers that as well. These guys are unreal.

Laird Hammilton is the master of big wave tow in. Look for anything he is doing and be amazed. The guy is a freek of nature. I used to sail with him way back in the day, he is super human!

Saw Riding Giants during a trip to Nantucket. Crazy waves and riders.

Wish they would zoom out on that video so we can see why the waves consistently offer an area for the riders and vessels to sit nearby and avoid the swells.

Craziest thing about Tahapoo is that the swell can draw so much water in that wave that it can expose the reef below over the water line.

That place is one of the most beautiful and amazing wave breaks there is in the world.
