3000-3500 rpm is probably in the 40-45mph range.

At that RPM w/454 you are probably burning 12-15 GPH.

When determining the distance you can travel on a tank of gas, always use 90 percent of the boat's total fuel capacity to give yourself a cushion.

About a month ago we did a river trip on the Tennessee river from Lake Guntersville Alabama to Chattanooga and back. Conditions were calm. The boat is a 2001 252 Islander with a 350 hour 496 Mag (not HO) in it. Bravo 1 drive with a B1 24p prop. Attached is a picture of the gps readout for the trip. We burned almost exactly 60 gallons over 177 miles for an average of about 3 mpg. Typical cruise speeds were 30-32 mph. The moving average shown is lower since we had to idle and lock through and float some. I was really impressed with the boat on this trip. Try one, you'll like it!
