My guess it is the same boat but there was a Riveted Open Class boat back during the OPT Racing days.

Wow you guys are way to young

I recall many aluminum riveted boats that raced in the 80's

Take the pacifiers out of your mouth and do a search on 80's race boats LOL

Always liked this boat every time it's popped up.

So why would he spell Cougar with an ( E ) Couger?

Hope he got a discount on those graphics :lolhit:

That boat is Riveted, it has raced in many races and was owned by a guy here in MD for a while.

There was also one run up here out of Rochester, NY called "Chairman of the Board" run by Nuri Sabunchu. (I used to date his secretary.) The boat was the only one in the states to run (and win with) Lamborghini V-12 motors. It sounded awesome! Early versions were know to develop what was called a "Cougar smile" where the front part of each sponson would deform from rough water racing. It looked just like a smile.

Jay Castaline had a similar boat to that in his shop in Ft Lauderdale, it was an old Popeyes race boat, all aluminum construction. He sold the business I don't know where the boat ended up.

Maybe he felt the need to spell it wrong, I believe "ghetto" and "hipsters" spell cougar with an "E" because it implies the older woman after younger men....I have no idea, but I bet , yep, it's in urban dictionary. America is getting dumber by the minute, this boat just shows, money doesn't mask education....or lack there of...haha

I think he took that wing design from here...

Probably the same rigger...:party-smiley-004:

Aluminum were one off(s)....race boats in the 80s/ early 90s....

Before glass and kevlar, carbon etc materials were lighter and stronger...

Therer were two "Riveted" race boats. The 38' Cougar, I heard was in Mich.?? Same "Riveted" team sold the 38' in 1998 and purchased the Ohio Steel 42' CUV. They campaigned the 42' through 2000 I believe. Bobby Prince, who was out of Baltimore area purchased the 42' in 2001. Bobby never was able to get the package toether before he passed away in 2009. I ended up with 42' last year and haven't had the time to get it together either.
