Default OT/ Switch vs Sensor

For a ford truck the one that goes to the Oil gauge they list two parts a switch and a sensor what is the difference? Thanks

Your post is vague, but I'll take a stab at it.

The switch is probably for a dummy light on the dashboard...Oil pressure above minimum=no light, low oil pressure=light comes on.

The sensor is probably for a gauge set-up.

Your oil pressure gage is not a gage at all. It's a glorified idiot light. All it does is tell you if you have pressure, not how much.

Check with the gang at www.f150online.com they'll be able to answer any questions.

Default SENDER VS SWITCH

Baja is absolutely correct,a sender unit drives a gauge via a variable resistor,a switch turns on a light.
