That boat will need less than 1.24 ratio to go any speed.Byrdmans 46 Skater pulled 1.19 ratio with 40 pitch to the rev limiters.Granted Byrds motors turned 6600 rpm and went 192 with 1600 hp.

Turbo Engines will be the leaders in the very near future, Superchargers will be a thing of the past. The Turbo engines are the only way to go IMO. They never took off back in the day of Gentry Marine but the turbo tech is so advanced now that they will prevail
Hell even Mercury Racing is on the bandwagon already with their new 1350.. I couldn't even imagine 200 + MPH.

how about 600hp out of a 1.3L motorcycle ... 7.5:1 comp you can ride on the street all day long it goes 7.0's-7.teens @ 200+mph on a street tire

or true 60inch wheelbase 7.52@195(forever a record-class decomissioned)

HARD to beat Turdbo's!!! Turbo fuel management systems came a long long way.

...I must say they are stepping up supercharger output w the same fuel mgmt systems--maybe we will see classes divided by power adder types in the future. ie: supercharger class, turbo class, NA class etc...who knows its just a thought.

I think the hybrid is what comes next. Twin screw sc's with turbos in front. Just look a VW's 1.4l TSI. 170 hp on a 1,4l streetcar with full warranty and normal service life. I think it's pushing 40+ psi. In a factory spec car, that's alot.

Have Boostpower ever build any of their 2400 hp SC/turbo combos?

Banks Performance has already done this with its 800hp twin turbo/sc Duramax Marine diesel.

Volvo has done supercharged and turbo for a long time now on their diesel engines ,and still doing this by now ,although these are not high output engines ..
Detroit also ,with their 2 stroke diesels.

Engine development was stymied in the 60’s by people like Bill France Sr NASCAR and The NHRA they should have let Ford with it’s Cammer and Chrysler with the DOHC Hemi (doomsday machine) battle it out, then crybaby GM would have to step up,

As for Diesels I like the Cummins and Iveco FTP straight 6 cylinder engines (medium duty diesel) they can produce huge power with much fewer moving parts than these light duty V8 Diesels, We ran the Volvo turbo and sc Diesel in one of our patrol boats for a test and NO way would I use that thing again, 6 Cylinder diesel (mentioned above)bolted to an Arneson drive, that works every time.
