Its turning around very quickly... Better be ready to strike.
Now is the time to build at lower costs.

Take Care All
There has not been a Fountain at LOTO that has gone 150MPH let alone 180,190,200+ like so many Cats do!

Default Just telling as I see it on the water.

You have a Fountain 27 that is 4900+lbs dry weight. Now put a 454Mag 375hp or 502 415 hp (mild power for that weight). Just because it is a fountain or any boat you have to deal with power to weight ratios. I only run in water that has a slight to medium chop were my hull runs high on its tail (Less Friction) this calmer water is a negative for the Fountain IMO. I try not to run in the rougher water for safety and not in my advantage. Now if there is a Blue Motor present 500hp/EFI or SC then that is a different story obviously.

All I can say is that I have ran the 27 with the above power (not sure on the year stepped or non stepped) and have edged them out.

Do some searches on top speed for the Fountain 27 or any other boat in the same length with the above power and you will see the numbers range from 62 to 67???
Many do not even post their speeds?

Would I rather have a Fountain, I sure would just can't afford it right now.

But not bad for a family Bowrider

I'm not a Fountain fan or a Mariah hater but a Friend of mine has a 27 fountain with the 496 ho and it breaks 70 most days of the week with no mods so you raced some slow 27's as the 496 was no faster that I have ever seen than a 502, Smitty

Little defensive? Notice I said "Stock Mariah" in my post. Any idiot can make anything go fast. A Pontiac sunfire can be made to go faster then a Porsche 911 if you are stupid and have $ to burn. Does not mean it is a sports car or meant for that purpose.
All 27 Fountains in stock form should will run faster then 64 if it is propped correctly, not a tired engine, etc. (With the exception of that one that came with the Volvo setup that was just for sale). Even your "custom" powered Mariah can't beat a Properly set-up stock 27 . Maybe those 27s weren't up for racing a bowrider. Im sure there have been Jetski riders who thought they could beat me when I am cruising at 50% throttle. I run mine WFO when I choose to. Enjoy your Chapparel/Mariah whatever it is.
