Default Rio Roses Faster that the Cats?

Never understood the claim that the Rio Roses Fountain was faster than the Cats. Has a Fountain ever won the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout for top speed Just Asking? Plenty of recreational cats that run 180+ let alone full race prepared Cats.

Lets keep the speed claims real in the Performance boating world.

Take Care All

Default Reggie

To bad his original business went south. I just meet him in tampa two days ago. I still believe he is the best boat builder of his time. Unless all the babies out there want to be in smooth water, then you should have a "cat" But all you guys know that if you want to take the waves or better yet the rollers. You better have a fountain !!!! With a **** load of power to get you out of them. I am talking about fun times as well as racing on a windy day. "" And a good throtle man to get you out of them. and not into them.
Much thanks for any comments up front.

It's true, I have a wanabe Mariah. However, I have outrun several stock powered 27' Fountains (454 Mags, 502s) with my slow Mariah.

355 Mild Buit
Vortec Heads, Roller Cam, Forged Internals, Air Gap Intake, Alpha One Drive,Stock Weber 4B,GLM Budget Exhaust,Mild CC 270HR XM cam
Crane Ignition, Laser II 21",
64MPH @ 5100rpm

They all have surprised looks. Don't go by the speedo "DreamOMeter"

Did not answer my original question??

Thanks

Reggie, congratulations on getting the new company Real Fast Marine going. Its tough to get a company going when the economy is good, but you seem to be ramping up in a terrible economy. That shows how respected you are, and the tangible value of that well earned respect.

I'm curious to see if you can't take advantage of this obvious change in the market to bring out a fundamentally new kind of performance boat that does not require a thousand dollars an hour in fuel to make it fun. Your competition is hamstrung by their investment in tooling. You are not.

Let's see if you can capitalize on your incomperable experience, or will you become like, say Gar Woods boat company that was unable to make the transition to the post war economy. The world is a different place now than before business and capital gains taxes became too low and businesses became stripped of assets. Its a different place now that gas is expensive. Its a different place now that the job market is so unstable that people are afraid to make the financial commitments needed for a boat. Its different now that financing is so hard to come by. Its a different world today. Think different, start a different kind of boat company, create fun performance products that will sell.
