Business in this country was driven out by greed by business owners. At one time we were just fine paying our workers a fair wage. Then the let's move everything to China bus came into town and away went our jobs with it, just took a long time to catch up.

We have the highest tax rates in the world, business regulation that went insane (NJ Has 26000 pages of regulation alone), Lawsuits, we have 65% of the worlds Lawyers and 4.6% of the population, The Draconian EPA, The Local agency’s, Union BS, the Permitting crapola, Labor problems, who in their right mind would start a new business here when you are treated like a terrorist?

Why do people start buisnesses?? To make money. Somebody please provide an example of someone who started a major buisness for the sole purpose of paying their employees $25 bucks an hour plus unlimited medical and dental plus retirement. The fact is, compensation shlould be based on the value of the service the employee provides his employeer. How much technical ability, training and education does it take to screw part A onto part B?
The thing about this country is that if you are not satisfied doing a basic job for basic pay, your free to use the creativeness you were born with and the education you worked for to start your own company to make more money.
Your pay and benefits should match the skills necessary to do the job. If any swinging dick can do the job, then there should be no need for excessive pay as its easy to find people to do the job. If the job requires unique skills and ability it should pay more because its harder for the boss man to attract qualified people to do the job.
It's simple, its reality. The guy with the motivation, education and ability to start a sucessfull company should be able to recieve as much return on his investment as possible. he should pay his employees based upon their value to his buisness. If he pays his workers less than the job is worth, then he won't have any workers left because they will find work paying the equivelent of their skills.
The unions came about because people didnt think they were being paid/treated fairly forcing the buisness owners to pay the employees what they were worth. Then the unions grew and forced the empoyer to pay the worker more than he was worth. This put a financial/income strain on the employer, who then raised the price to the consumer to pay excessive workers salary. As a result of this the bossmans buisness is no longer competitive in the market.
the scales were tipped to far into the bossmans favor at one point, now the scales are tipped to far into the workers favor. Niether extreme will lend to the survival of a sucessful buisness.
It Not "evil greed" as so many want to scream, its basic reality. We are taking basic 7th grade economics here, its really not that difficult to comprehend.
