Question Good Used Performance Boat, 20-24 feet

Parameters:

Used

20' - 24'

$30k or less

Performance boat to be used only a few times a year.

My father spends most of the cold months in the Keys, but during the summer months we get bored in Illinois. I am looking for a present for my dad that we can both use together during the summer months on our mid-size inland lake. I like the Fountain 25', the Formula 24' and the Baja 22'. We are both experienced boaters, I used to run my dad's 53' Viking. However, I have no experience with small performance boats. I know a few companies who make quality boats (Fountain, Baja, etc.) but spending mega bucks on a boat that is only used a few weekends per year is not my idea of fun.

National Marine in Peoria Heights, IL has a 242 Formula for $22,000. I think it is being brokered by National. The owners moved up to a Formula 330SS. I believe the 242 is in excellent condition with no issues. Definetly worth checking out. Their phone number is 309-688-5513 or look at it here; http://www.nationalmarinesales.com/contact.html

Lots of choices in that range do you want an outboard or an i/o do you need cabin space? I allways liked the 25' Checkmate they make a nice boat for the money. Also there are lots of 25' Baja's to choose from you can get a newer boat at a fair price. Alsoa 25' PowerPlay you can never go wrong with a PowerPlay. Check these out as well
21'Sutphen
21' Superboat
22'Activator
22'Progression
23'Kryptonite (I don't think youd be able to find one)
24'Skater
24'Pantera (Awesome boat)
24'Superboat
24'Sunsation (best customer service in the business)
24'Progression
25'Active Thunder
25'PowerPlay
25'Checkmate
25'Baja

Smile Performance Boat

Might be hard to find a a great used boat in that price range if your looking for a newer/custom look and ride... However an Eliminator 25/26 Eagle is a great V-bottom which comes in a closed/cuddy/or walk-thru open bow versions and is a single engine/turn key family boat .... just an idea... Good Luck!
