That's when offshore racing was "real" racing. I don't even care to watch the so called offshore racing that we have now a days. Those were the REAL good ol' days.

Once Elvis got out of racing is when i lost all interest too.

Tommy-thats funny that you posted that youtube video of "Clambake", one of the boats in the race scene is at Bandit Performance Marine in Brick NJ, and is for sale.

Thats what I would have thought 30 yrs ago when I knew nothing about the sport. I am lucky enough to have a friend, Sparky owner of Vicious custom boats, who is crew chief for BK Motorsports 32 Doug Wright. I've had the pleasure to drive the boat in testing for Clearwater. The outboard cats are truly amazing pieces of machinery.

Absolutely the best of times for Offshore. Loved watching Miss Don Q run Open in the small Skater. Serralles boys had a big pair.

It seems like there are no helo videos of modern racing, yet there are numerous videos from back in the day. I would love to see some of the same type of video of modern racing. Maybe that would change my mind.

For now, I'll stick with the old stuff.
