Too bad , I've read that the LSX block can support up to 2500HP , I think the LS series is the future .

He's right though. The sweet spot for lsx motors is under 750hp. There are guys over 1k but when you compare costs a BBC is cheaper at that level. With the heads now available for a BBC they are just going to keep making more power moving forward. Making power is all about airflow.

The lsx just doesn't have the bore spacing a 502 based BBC does and never will. Not only does this limit displacement, it also doesn't allow for the same size valves as the bbc.

Plus an aluminum block BBC weighs about the same as an iron block lsx motor.

Just some thoughts. I've done a bit of research on this for my 69 Camaro.

Thats right ,the power comes out of the heads,if the BBC heads flow like a LS head ,the power should be about equal by having the same displacement.

The bore space is bigger on a BBC ,like you mentioned ,but bigger bores are also more prone to detonation, more stroke adds also more cubic inches without being detonation sensative

Curious to see if there,s a marine LSX coming with big power

check out the mast LS cylinder head called moses its a canted valve just like a big block flows big block numbers as far as indurance they last preety good at the 24 hour races
