Question What would you do? Big Prehistoric Bird sheting on your Powerboat

Some prehistoric bird has made a perch out of my boat in the slip. He must be drinking milk of magnesia eating at Taco Bell everyday. Ive washed it twice, the last time its stained my new cover I think its a Blue Heron.

I put some neon streamers and a ballon hoping to scare it off. I ve been going by the slip at different times trying to catch him,he has gotten skittish of me.

I'm guessing its prob some law against shooting it?

What ya think

Rob

Anybody know anything about them?color blind?eyesight? Qbeam stun them?

Buy a rubber snake. I haven't had first hand proof that it works but remember reading an article that said it is very effective. Worth a try.

Rubber snake might work. I had the same problem with birds crapping on the airplane. I bought a motorized owl with big yellow eyes that would turn its head and hoot every 5 minutes. That thing ended my bird problem in the hangar.

In South Florida they had these whirly things that swirled in a circle, and they had red flags on them. Seemed to work well. I saw them on Police boats even.

I'm guessing the fines will start at about 10 large.

Rubber snake is the ticket.

A bigger slip might help too if I was a bird that would be a great hang out.

Rob,
the title of your thread cracked me up! Athough I know it's not funny. In Fl. the Blue heron is protected, Jay's right, big fine down here to shoot it, not sure about Miss. law. Try the snake thing, 1st, or the spinners, I also see people with Big Sport Fish boat using them in the Port.

I've got an Ospery problem out front of our house, he sits on the light pole and craps on EVERYTHING on that side of the driveway! And it's just like you described...
Plus he's not afraid of me, until I kick the light pole to shoo him off. AWESOME Bird, but he poops like a COW!
Good luck,
Dean

Electro shock therapy. Don't kill him just knock a few feathers off. Lol ! In the past I had a possum, muskrat, beaver and racoon problem. The problem with killing him is another will take his place. Good luck.
