Any idea what the weight, of the baja 272 is?? Any trouble pulling one with a F150? It is lifted slightly, with helper airbags in the rear.

Probably around 5000 lbs. I have a friend that pulled his from Ohio to Lake Cumberland with a Tahoe and had no problems.

As I said before I had a Baja 272 and you will have no problem towing with an F150. I towed ours with a Lincoln Navigator to the Ozarks and back with ease each year. Just get yourself the proper drop hitch and you will be set. I used the B&W Tow&Stow 5 inch you may need their 8inch adjustable hitch if you went that way.

The weight is about 6000-6500 on trailer, so leagally you can pull it. Make sure you have good brakes on both the truck and trailer. Pulling is not the issue, stopping and stabillity is.

I dont think you need a big v hull on a river. You would have a lot more fun and go a lot faster in something like a STV euro, Mirage, Eliminator, etc.
Or step up to a 21 Skater/Skater copy or similar.

Actually, you do need a larger boat. That's especially true on the Mississippi. The river is narrow and the cruisers are big. Then, you have the large barges. I feel like my 31 is just the right size. I'd also recommend a twin engine boat, if possible. A breakdown in a 7 MPH current gets hairy real fast.

My previous boat was a 20' Baja open bow. I didn't even bother going out on busy weekends because it was no fun getting pounded by rough water. The only time I could really open it up was on a weekday.

That 265 boss A.O.Razer linked to looks pretty nice, Not sure what the boss package has but my Baja h2x had the package & with a stock 454mag ran 70+ all day long, very comfortable & even has tabs to help with rougher water. Sorry I sold that boat. Also I boat on the Missouri running the river was never a problem my 2 cents

Check out Outlaw Eagle Manufacturing. Those guys now how to run rivers. From race to fishing/expidition machines. I want one.

I want to throw out another option that works great on the lower Mississippi. I have a 22.5' 20 degree pad vee with a 250 HO Etec that works great on the "Big Muddy". I have 150S K planes to help smooth out the big chop and keep the bow down when you meet upstream big 30-40 barge tows. I also have a Bobs extreme jack plate that i can raise and get into sand bars without getting sand in your cooling passages. There are any number of good hulls both in closed and open bow configurations and good power options from Mercury, BRP, Yamaha and Suzuki that are quiet, fast, and very fuel efficient.

I will throw in another vote for Sonic. They made 26, 28 and 31 footers. Most I have seen are fitted with twins.

my vote ,, 22 or 25 Talon, single or with twins..
