Best Bang for your Buck Cat?
I am about to purchase a new Nordic Thor 27 open bow with a 700sci NXT Drive. Price tag is $150k. The boat is stunning and as a current Nordic owner, I am satisfied with the brand.
Before I make the final leap, I am seeking your opinion to see *if there is another option I should be considering. Living in eastern Canada, we are not exposed to most performance brands available, hence it is very difficult to form an opinion on quality of each brand.
To guide you on what I am looking for, here are a few points:
- boat has to be new.
- open bow is a must.
- 100 mph target.
- high quality and finish.
- looking for best handling at both moderate and high speed.
- $ 150k is max price.
- boat styling should stand the test of time.
- in board engine only.
- length between 25 and 27.
I am looking forward to your input and advices.
Thanks
JF

RPM 26. A big 26, runs very fast for the power, and looks badass. Also a great deal for the money.
They haven't done an open-bow that I've seen, but am sure they could.

JFT - I would question the open bow choice. I have a 31 cat and they are faster than the V hulls w/ equal power. No one is going to want to sit out there in a 70 mph wind. But Eliminator is the other option, they make a 27 Daytona with an optional open bow.
I would look at them to.

If buying new, go with an Ilmor engine. More unique, way more cool than Merc, better milage, better service and an awsome sound. Also, if buying new, you can pretty much just order what you want.
The DCB F-29 with single or twin v10s would be a cool rig.
