If buying new, go with an Ilmor engine. More unique, way more cool than Merc, better milage, better service and an awsome sound. Also, if buying new, you can pretty much just order what you want.

The DCB F-29 with single or twin v10s would be a cool rig.

Not even close to the 150k budget. I priced one

+1 on the Ilmor 725/Indy. Much lighter and way easier on the wallet to operate than a 700NXT.

+1, great boat.. In fact, horizon motorsports in havasu, has an 08 F29, Ilmor710s, IMCOs, for sale..., not too far off the 150K budget...174K

Aha, missed that one. What new 27' open bow cat that runs 100+ can be had for a 150k?
Anyway, C_Spray is right, you should also look at the costs in the long run.

Don't know any open bows, but know of 2 cats 26-30' that will run 100 for 150k, new

I know of a Spectre 32 cat with twin Ilmors and bravo XR drives with imco steering and standoff boxes, and way to much custom stuff to list for under 150 and it also has a stereo that cost over 40,000, and it goes 130mph every day of the week and it is in perfect condition with under 75 hours on it. Now that seems like a deal for a serious boat.

JFT - I would question the open bow choice. I have a 31 cat and they are faster than the V hulls w/ equal power. No one is going to want to sit out there in a 70 mph wind. But Eliminator is the other option, they make a 27 Daytona with an optional open bow.

I would look at them to.

Wannabe

Wannabe,
I have plenty of people who enjoy sitting up front in my MCOB 28 cat in the 70mph wind! Hell, mine has no windshield so everyone, including me is sitting in the wind even at 100+mph!

Interesting. Can anyone expand on this?

Thank you all for the feedback.

Hard to believe that price for that boat. I would say that's the best deal so far. What power is the engine?
