I have been a big fan of CC boats and the trend away from the expensive power and fuel. But this got me thinking for similar money you can get a new TopGun that runs 80mpg and can warranty for 7 years on 87 octane.

CC boats are 9-10 ft wide and I know here in Florida the cops are enforcing wideload permits way more that in previous years.

3-4 engines VS just 2.....

Thoughts....
Mark, Great points you make about the sensabilty of this 38 Top Gun warranty/fuel economy/lower insurance & maintenance costs and thanks for cheerleading about it!
The boat did run 80 mph with 2 people/40 gallons of fuel and mid to upper forty's @ 3500 rpm turning lab finished 30p bravo's. I will be sure and look at fuel burn when I deliver this next week and pass on. Please send any questions my way at [email protected] Thanks.

I wouldnt guess that it would be more than 50GPH+- at WOT. 430HP is still 430HP. Takes 20-25 GPH to make that HP per side.

I am curious to see where my guess is on that.

If I am close, that would put it around 1.5MPG at 60MPH??

If Cig made a 35 with HO's I'd debate really hard about buying one....obviously depends on the $$$.

Not much this year. My usual boating lake is down 8 feet. But my boat has 280 hrs now and all I ever did to it was put gas in it and change the oil. I have had excellent service from 525's.

I'd put blowers on it. Good looking boat though!

My 28 Daytona had twin 496's (not HO's) and it burned 60GPH total at WOT 90mph. At 70MPH it only burned 35GPH total.

Going off memory the old 502 Mags and the 496 HOs burnt about 36 gph at WFO.

Wish we knew what the boat sold for, I would love to have it.
